Conditions for funding

The Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb) assists in developing appropriate online courses at Bavarian universities. In this connection the vhb operates a multi-phase tendering procedure:

  • Notice of requirements
  • Description of tasks
  • Bid

Subsequent to the bid the vhb gives notice of its funding decision. Those responsible for the project at the member universities design the courses. The vhb provides the financial resources and has its project managers support and monitor the project phase.

The vhb acquires by supporting the project to the required extent user and patent rights to the course offerings. The funding decision and the declaration of consent contain details. These documents regulate the conditions for development and the use of vhb course offerings.

Following the final acceptance by the consortium the online courses are included in the vhb course programme and are available to all Bavarian students. The providers are responsible for the tutorial support and supervision of the course offered. The vhb offers the course through its portal, takes on student-related administrative tasks, provides resources for support and supervision and organizes on completion of each course student evaluations and external expert assessments after five completed courses.
